Environmental Licenses and Permits Overview
Certain types of businesses must obtain specific licenses or permits from the New Mexico Environment Department. This requirement includes businesses that:
- Handle or produce food;
- Install septic systems;
- Install and maintain petroleum tanks;
- Feature a swimming pool;
- Perform medical imaging or radiation therapy;
- Maintain public water systems;
- Generate toxic waste; or
- Produce regulated air emissions.
